This weekend we are leaving Heraklion and going on a small road trip in western Crete. As it should be, we encountered a few stumbling blocks at the beginning.
We wanted to catch an earlier bus to make up some time at work - the bus arrives considerably late. But we manage to leave the office on time and head to the car rental - issues with the paperwork. After finally sorting that out, we get in the car đ Guess who was the first driver yesterday? Me đââď¸
Next stop: Rethymnon
We decided to take the hilly and winding route. Sometimes closer, sometimes further away from the cliff and the oncoming cars, we not only enjoyed a great view but also saw many beautiful little villages. At this point, I want to apologize again to the locals who were driving carefully for not being as daring in some sections đ
In the late afternoon, we arrived at the hotel, had a good meal, and then started the night đşđĽł
One thing I noticed: Greek music is not always easy to dance to, and smoking in the bars/clubs is absolutely not to my taste. But the hospitality has been top-notch! Everyone is very friendly, and there's always something extra đś
Today, we'll explore the city more closely. It already looked very beautiful at night. Then, we'll make a stop in Chania and head to the next accommodation near a special beach.
