We visited the Choeung Ek Genocide Museum, which was formerly one of over three hundred sites that were used as Killing Fields under the regime of "Democratic Kampuchea". During the rule of the Khmer Rouge (1975-1979), it is estimated that between 1.6 and 2.2 million people lost their lives, mainly through mass killings, starvation, or forced labor such as rice field farming. Most of the Khmer Rouge soldiers were children of the population who appeared strong and smart.

The movie: "The Long Road to Hope" is very emotionally made about the regime of the Khmer Rouge.
