Old Town, tuk-tuk, boat trip, Lumphini Park, and jetlag

Публикувано: 26.02.2017

Jetlag caught us 🙈 It is almost three am and it is impossible for us to sleep. So it seems a good time to write something for our blog.

We went to Bangkok Old Town since there is no subway or skytrain, we took a tuk-tuk... better said a Thai named Tack helped us, disoriented 'farangs', outside the underground station with some directions. He found us a very cheap tuk-tuk which drove us to the Smiling Buddha with cows in the middle of the city... where our tuk-tuk driver kindly waited. Then he drove us to the very budget-friendly export shopping... the place where we should 'suit up' 😉 Which, of course, we didn't 😛

Next thing we wanted to do was take a boat trip... so he brought us to a private boat hire... which we also didn't take 😜 We wanted to take the public boats...which are nice and full... that's where we parted our ways... we took the boat over the Chao Phraya River... looked at the Wat Ayrun und took the ferry boat to the Wat Pro and King's Palace.... in this area, we again enjoyed the Thai cuisine.... and it wasn't that bad 😋 Since we already had experience with tuk-tuk drivers, we negotiated a price and drove to the underground station... with whom we drove to Lumphini Park where we heard the national anthem at 6:00 PM. This park is a tranquil spot in the middle of hectic Bangkok.

We were shattered, hot...so it was time to go back to our hotel... where we tried out the pool at night... which cooled us down very nicely... After that, Steffi had a well-deserved foot massage... and tomorrow morning we both have a Thai massage ... that's why we finally have to get some sleep... if possible 🤗
