Day 12 - Tychero, Dadia National Park, Driving, Kavala, Nea Peramos and Dimitri - 15.07.2020

After getting up early, we only had Frappe for breakfast today because we didn't want to unload half of the car due to one night's stay.

Once we were ready and the vehicle was loaded, we drove to Dadia.

When we arrived there, Eve got the tickets and shortly after, the in-house minibus took us through the forest to the observation station.

And what luck, there was a beautiful eagle sitting on a tree at the main gathering point, and not the vulture(s) we had hoped for.

This time, the vultures were not in our favor and could only be seen from a distance.

Nevertheless, I was able to observe 6 different vultures, although mostly for a short time and very far away. Let's see if there is anything recognizable on one of the pictures despite the telephoto lens.

When we returned to the station, Eve bought two postcards there and I bought a leather keychain.

We noticed some vulture feathers and when Eve hesitantly asked if she could buy one, they said no to buying --> but she could pick one and take it with her.

That was probably the biggest gift for Eve :-)

Then we decided not to drive to the observation station again, but to go to our next destination, Nea Peramos.

I stopped at a parking lot just before Alexandroupoli, used the bathroom, and said to Eve: adjust the driver's seat, now you drive.

The smile on her face was almost bigger than with the Egyptian vulture feather. After 152 km, she had to hand over the steering wheel to me again.

We didn't want to visit Kavala today, so we drove all the way to Nea Peramos.

Since no one was expecting us here so early, we went to our regular taverna and ordered some drinks and food.

First, we were served by a new waiter and shortly after by the boss 'Dimitri', who immediately recognized us. We must have made a lasting impression 2 years ago.

Dimitri also brought us a Tsipouro as an appetizer before our meal :-)

After eating, we went to the beach just like back then and simply enjoyed the weather and being lazy. Dimitri also brought a bowl of fresh watermelon, which was very sweet.

At 15:40, we set off for our appointment regarding the accommodation.

Here, we have our own apartment for 7 nights. From the balcony, we have a partial sea view.

The apartment is stylish and equipped with everything, even a washing machine. Only in the bathroom can you unfold your creativity :-) We are satisfied and happy with this accommodation.
