My eggplant-colored paint shines warmly in the sun. It's going to be a hot day. Expectantly, I wait until it starts around 10 o'clock. Rail inclusive PalmaEasyAir stay there - okay, I'm going on a trip.
Off to Bovec - the goal is the highest waterfall in Slovenia. Since we have chosen the campsite quite centrally, the drive to the waterfall is not far. I am there after 20 minutes. As always, I wait down in the parking lot, four wheels - you know. I report from talking and hearing/telling.
According to the guidebook, the climb takes about 15 minutes and is rewarded with a fantastic view of the Boka, the highest waterfall in Slovenia. The river plunges 106m from the mountains into the depths. Incredibly impressive. After many photos and selfies, I go back the slightly difficult path. Leaving behind a little tower of stones, I continue. Next destination - Soča spring.
I roll back leisurely, because the spring is in the other direction. A stop in Bovec on the way, to load up with groceries and wine. I heard that there will be fresh Soča trout tonight. Since it's so hot, I first stop briefly at the campsite - unload - and then continue to the Trenta Valley.
It's a bit difficult to find the way to the spring - poorly explained in the guidebook as well -, after 25 minutes I turn sharp right and take the first parking lot. Yes, yes - I wait down here and reluctantly enjoy the shady spot.
We walk uphill - where on earth could the spring be. Shortly afterwards there is a small restaurant and from there - a 30-minute hike - we go up the mountain. Totally unsuitable for children and people with disabilities - perfect for adventurers. The last 10 minutes of the huffy climb you have to climb on a metal rope. Some people turn back, as the height is also not to be underestimated. No way - to the spring - no matter what!
You can hear the Soča and finally the spring shows itself in all its glory high above. Words cannot describe the feeling of joy and fascination. Since the Soča has little water in midsummer, you can climb to the deep blue cave. Awesome. Staying there for a long time and looking into the valley, we return to Svensson some time later. Unhurt and deeply moved, we go back to discover another waterfall on the way back.
I roll down the S-curves - sometimes 14% gradient - and wait at the parking lot at the botanical garden.
We walk along the mountain pass road for a while, then turn right over a bridge to the Mlinraica waterfall. Not huge, but just as beautiful to look at.
On the way back, we swim and take a break in the Soča, then we go back to Svensson.
Now I'm going back to the campsite. With a lot of routine, I dock at PalmaEasyAir and make myself comfortable in the late afternoon sun for the rest of the day. Tonight it smells like grilled trout (freshly ordered at the campsite), accompanied by Slovenian white wine. Cozy and deeply impressed, the 16th day of our trip ends.
