At 11:00 am, we started our sightseeing tour with our tour guide Jan. We visited the place where according to Jan, São Paulo can be experienced best - Ibirapuera Park. The main idea behind the park, which used to be a swamp area, was to create a natural oasis where all plants of Brazil are represented. Today, the park covers an area of over two million square meters. In addition to three buildings designed by the famous architect Oscar Niemayer, Ibirapuera is home to many bike paths, small shops, and a lake, and it houses about 70% of the plant diversity of Brazil. The coconuts we got to taste were very delicious and we all enjoyed the trip to the greenery.
In the afternoon, we headed to 'Avenida Paulista', the largest shopping street in São Paulo, and there we went to a huge shopping center. We spent the next three hours in the stores and had dinner together. Afterwards, we had a surprise awaiting us, organized by Jan. We went to the rooftop of a skyscraper to a club from where we could overlook all of São Paulo. There, we enjoyed our last hours in São Paulo and also said goodbye to Jan.
