Today we have to get up early because our onward flight to Auckland is scheduled for 8:55. The alarm clock rings at 05:50, we pack our last things and then go on foot to the MRT station "Lavender". Just as we leave the hotel, it starts to rain heavily. Fortunately, we can cover most of the distance. When we arrive at the airport, we look for our check-in counter, which is in the second-to-last row :-) We pass through check-in, as well as passport and security control quickly. When we arrive at Gate A16 - once again at the other end of the airport - we can finally upload the pictures of the last few days to the blog using the airport Wi-Fi. The Air New Zealand Boeing 787 (Dreamliner) takes us the 8,418 km to Auckland. The plane is very modern, the flight attendants are friendly, and the food is good. So we even eat an Emmi-Yogurt for breakfast over Indonesia ;-)
Once again, we have a seat above the wing and can observe its deformations. The plane is quite full, so this time we only have "only" two seats. The ten-hour flight flies by. So far, clearly the best airline we know.
The actual travel hardships are yet to come - namely the immigration control, which even cleans Marco's trekking shoes so that we don't enter with contaminated (dirty) shoes - haha.
After that, we pack our suitcases again and head to the airport hotel for the first night. It is already after 24 o'clock here. Tomorrow we will pick up the camper :-)
