On Saturday, March 18th, we arrived in Buenos Aires around 11 am after a 20-hour bus ride. We were fortunate to be able to spend our first and second night in the Palermo neighborhood at Gastón's apartment. On Sunday, we went to San Telmo to visit a huge art and antique market, had a really good burger for dinner, and spent the rest of the evening with Gastón. The next morning, we found our first hostel, which wasn't very nice but sufficient. On Monday evening, we, like many tourists in Buenos Aires, went to 'La Bomba de Tiempo', a percussion concert in an old industrial complex that takes place every Monday.

We spent Tuesday and Wednesday in San Isidro at Juan's apartment, a tattoo artist, and his girlfriend, to get our travel tattoos done and have a good time. Even though the photos may not look like it, Juan is a professional tattoo artist who invited us to his home because it was easier for us to reach, and he tattoos with just a needle, without a machine (handpoke). We also moved to a nicer hostel in the San Telmo neighborhood.

On Thursday, we met up with our Swiss friend Tobias and a few other travelers at the 'Centro Cultural Kirchner' to visit some impressive art exhibitions.

On Friday, after a small Argentine snack, Gastón took us to 'La Boca', a very poor but colorful neighborhood, also known as the birthplace of tango. Later, we went to Recoleta, a very wealthy and beautiful neighborhood, to drink mate in the park and prepare for the evening like many young people do. Finally, we had a beer in a trendy bar district.

On Saturday, after a very complicated search for cheap ferry tickets for the next day, we took a nice walk through the 'Reserva Ecológica de Buenos Aires'. In the evening, we met up with Tobias in Recoleta to watch a unique show. 'Fuerza Bruta' can't really be explained. It's somewhere between a concert, a party, a theater, a light show, and art. But it was definitely worth every one of its 380 pesos!

Today, we're taking the ferry to Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay.
