After another 7-hour flight to Addis and another 5-hour flight to Antananarivo, we arrived safely at the hostel.

Everything went according to plan.

The precautions for Corona are also noticeable here. All airport personnel are wearing masks. On the airplane, the middle seat was not occupied 90% of the time (social distancing). Many passengers were wearing masks. Extra form upon entry, see photo, and temperature check at the border.

(@ Hannah, it's good that we didn't see each other at the last minute.)

Fortunately, customs were also satisfied with the answer: I have nothing to declare.

We were then picked up at the airport by 2 very friendly Mitarbeitern from Projekt Manda and taken to the hostel.

Unfortunately, my French was not yet good enough for a nice conversation, but we managed with gestures and a mix of English and French.

The drive through the city was very impressive. Madagascar is hilly around the capital and very green at the moment. Rice fields everywhere, free-roaming cows and goats, even in the rice fields, overcrowded minibuses, scooters with families (4 people on one scooter), market stalls, etc. the typical African scene.

Our hostel: Maison du Pyla is located a bit outside the city center. It is an old, winding house with stairs, high ceilings, and old wooden floors. The rooms are nice, even with private bathrooms. It is not far from the Manda orphanage (about 5 min).

I'm excited, tomorrow it will start.
