For relaxation after Da Lat

The days in HCMC or Saigon were quite exhausting, so we were looking forward to Da Lat or Dalat, as so many had already said: Oh, Da Lat is so beautiful. And it's true. The first impression was, it reminded us of Titisee in the Black Forest. Mountains, pine forests, fresh air, the lake and a lot of hotels around.

Truly majestic large houses. But at second glance, it is still thoroughly Asia and that is also good. There is a huge range of hotels and it appears to us to be too big. One cafe or pub is next to the other, the market testifies to the strong agricultural influence of the region. Vegetables, strawberries, and flowers are grown in huge greenhouses around the city. Every evening, masses of visitors gather at the night market to eat, shop or meet up.

Our first destination was the 'crazy house' of the architect Hang Nga. We really liked it with its twisted paths and stairs and organic forms

But the most beautiful part was a larger room, which is also used for events. It is designed like an underwater world
In addition to a walk around Xuan Huong Lake and the old train station, there are several pagodas to visit and outdoor activities to undertake. We particularly liked the Truc Lam Pagoda, which is located a bit outside the city and can be reached by cable car or hiking, like we did. It impresses with its location above the large Tuyen Lam Lake and the abundant flowers all around.

At the Tuyen Lam Lake, 10 km outside the city, we then checked into a more luxurious resort for two days and enjoy the tranquility and fresh air that smells like pine and not like a city.

So tomorrow we will return to the heat and hustle on the coast, refreshed.
