After three days in rainy weather in Colombia's capital, I jumped on the next plane and headed north. There, sun, beach, sea, and temperatures of over 30 degrees awaited me daily.
During my trip, I had already met many backpackers who only had positive things to say about Colombia. They all assured me: 'You will love Colombia!' After almost 3 weeks in the dreamy beach paradise, I can only agree with their statements. I have fallen in love with the new country.
Dreamy beaches, crystal clear water, warm summer evenings, cheerful music, and extremely friendly people. In addition, there are all the delicious and super cheap fruits, the palm trees and coconut trees, the mangoes falling from the trees, the colorful souvenir shops, and the beautiful cities and villages - there is a fantastic Hawaii feeling here! To end my trip, I try to enjoy every place even more intensely and for a longer time.
I have spent many days by the sea, by the pool, and in small beach villages. After a week of pure relaxation, I met Joram again. I have already traveled with the Belgian boy through Brazil, Argentina, and Chile. It's good to meet old acquaintances again. Joram is currently traveling through Colombia with his brother.
The three of us completed a diving course together in the fishing village of Taganga. The dives were absolutely fantastic and the underwater world fascinated me so much that I found a great love for this new sport.
Afterwards, we hiked through Tayrona National Park for two days. With a humidity of what felt like 90% and temperatures of 35 degrees in the shade, we hiked through the palm-filled jungle. Covered in sunscreen and a layer of mosquito spray to fend off the pesky insects, everything turned into a wonderful salsa within two minutes. Rarely have I sweated so much and at the same time, nature was so beautiful. We refreshed ourselves with a dip in the Caribbean Sea in between (which is not really refreshing with a water temperature of 27 degrees). The views over the sea and the beaches were breathtaking. We stayed overnight at a camping site with hammocks right by the sea.
