La Serena 🌊

On Thursday July 19, 2018, we traveled 6 hours by bus from Caldera to La Serena. 🚌

La Serena is a beautiful city located on the Pacific Ocean. This city is about 470 km north of Chile's capital and close to the city of Coquimbo. To the east is the Valle del Elqui (where we will spend 3 nights), which is formed by the Rio Elqui and is the northernmost wine region in Chile. 🍷

We watched the sunset from the ocean and the lighthouse is a landmark of the city and very impressive. The city has several universities, so there are many young people to see. As in Santiago, there are impressive (traffic light) street performers here. 🤹🏽‍♂️🎪🚦

We spent one night here in La Serena at Hostal La Serena, which is highly recommended!!! It was the only hostel with heating and is close to the bus terminal! 😊
