After a long drive through the winding roads, I arrive at the Cortijo Retreat Center in Las Alpujarras, a mountainous region located about 1.5 hours away from Granada. Today, I will be offering my crepes to the participants of a retreat. I'm a little nervous if everything will go smoothly, but it comforts me to know that I already know some of the people from yoga in Granada :)
And when I arrive at the stunning grounds, the stress from the drive immediately disappears... Aliya, the host, is still busy with an activity, but I meet the chefs Pedro and Javi, who show me where I can set up. And so, I have all the time in the world to calmly chop the remaining fruits and start creating. :)
The timing is perfect, and when the people finish their talk and come to me, there is already a portion ready for each person. Just then, after 3 years of reliable service, my crepe maker suddenly stops working.... But despite that, with the help of the No Bake Oat Cookies, everyone gets full, and we have the opportunity to discuss various dietary philosophies.
Today, the crepes will only be served to Aliya's group. The next day, I take the opportunity to use the remaining batter with a camping stove and pan, and it turns out to be the perfect snack after the sauna. :) And it makes me incredibly happy that my sugar-free, gluten-free, vegan mini crepes are so well-received...
So, my first catering experience turns into a wonderful retreat weekend with yoga, ecstatic dance, delicious food, and inspiring people in a dreamy environment...
