Today we spent quite a lot of time in Joshua Tree National Park. We did 3 trails.

The first trail we did was the Hidden Valley. It was about 20 minutes up and back. The heat was enormous once again. This time we were better equipped. Fully sunscreened and equipped with a sun hat. Real tourist style🤣 We also received a warning about rattlesnakes. So please don't leave the path🤣 We didn't see a single one, but we did see rabbits, desert mice, birds, and lizards.

The second stop was the Barker Dam Trail. This one also took about 20 minutes up and back. There should have been a dam there. The whole valley is characterized by gold and silver mines. The dam served as a water reservoir/supply back then. However, it was dried out.

Last, we visited the Wall Street Mill. It was a strange feeling, we were all alone🤣 well, we had plenty of water. We saw cars and the mill as well as water wells. They have probably closed the mine entrance.

It was a great experience. After that, we drove through the desert for almost 3 hours. Straight roads without population as far as the eye can see. This was our route for today:

Now we're having pasta again and then going to bed. Tomorrow we're visiting the Grand Canyon National Park. Wishing you all a nice day ☺️
