Solitary confinement

On the last day in Saigon, I thoroughly enjoyed the amenities of my "luxury hotel" in the morning. Splashing in the rooftop pool (14th floor), coffee with a view of the city, sauna... yes, even in tropical temperatures... and finally the fitness room. Almost five hours of finest wellness 😎. The coolest part was the pool, especially the feeling of swimming to the edge of the building... very, very thrilling.

Now arrived in Kuala Lumpur. I was lucky to sit next to a woman from Malaysia and her French husband on the plane. She told me a lot about KL and the rest of Malaysia... well, maybe even a bit too much. You could have thought she saved all her vocabulary of the day for this flight 🤫. Her husband seemed very satisfied. I guess he enjoyed being "free".

Kuala Lumpur - what should I say? The start was a bit sobering, because my low-budget hostel booked from Germany is a bit like "little Guantanamo". My room is more of a solitary confinement than a sleeping quarters. The contrast to the "luxury accommodation" in Saigon could not have been greater. The room is also without a window, the "bathroom" is a torso. But hey, I still slept like a baby on the first night.

Kuala Lumpur - what should I say now??? 🤔🤔🤔

Awesome!!! Super good!!! Right up my alley!!! I love skylines. Skyscrapers. In between, the exotic vegetation. The hustle and bustle. The lively neighborhoods, such as Chinatown or Little India, in contrast to the Skyscraper Center (called KLCC - Kuala Lumpur City Center) here. KL might even be better than New York for me. You can't really compare them, but it kind of blew my mind a bit. It doesn't matter that I unfortunately couldn't go to the Skydeck of the Twin Towers 😪, because the tickets were sold out for days. Instead, I went up the KL Tower (former television tower)... it also has its around 400m height. It might have been even better, because you can have an even better view of the city from there.

A big thank you to Phil, who highly recommended the "hop on, hop off tour" to me. I took two different routes... perfect 👌... even though I still walked a lot in parallel. Among other things, because I embarrassingly got lost in the "Rainforest" located in the city... typical tourist. But it wouldn't have been possible to see everything I saw today on foot alone. I'm only here for two and a half days.

Yessssss, such a "awesome day" ... 👍👌👏.

Well, now I'm totally exhausted and I'm going to make myself comfortable in my cell for the rest of the evening... nice day!
