After a day's stay at Geyrischer Teich, the journey continued on Friday, May 26, 2017 towards Geyer. The well 2.5 km across the mountain were quickly accomplished, only Rango did not seem to be comfortable walking longer distances. An alternative means of transportation was therefore required.
After a brief consultation at the tourist information office, we took the bus to Annaberg and from there continued to Bärenstein. Crossed the border to Vejprty on foot and also inquired about the information for possible onward travel to the Czech hinterland. There was supposed to be a bus to Karlovy Vary. At the bus stop, such a direct connection was not visible. So I decided to take the first bus that comes, the journey went to Kadaň.
From there, there was no sensible onward travel possible on the same day, so I looked for a place to sleep. According to Google, there is a campsite at the other end of the city, close to the Kadaň reservoir and the Franciscan monastery. After a good 30 minutes walk there, it turned out that the entry was outdated. So I decided to set up my tent near the Ohře river (or the reservoir). In doing so, I had to realize that the Dicke (a person) is not completely suitable for camping, my air mattress had two cracks several centimeters long. After I fixed them, I went back to the city without Rango, who got the task of "guarding the tent".
So far, I hadn't heard of this idyllic place, but I immediately liked the evening atmosphere. On the way back, I was able to get a first impression of the monastery. So a few hours later, thanks to chance, I crawled happily into my sleeping bag.
