Orcas, Seals and a Glacier

At 5:30 am, the night was over. I wanted to watch Hoffenheim against SC Freiburg. And since we are 10 hours behind here in Alaska, it meant getting up early. After that, VfB played against Bayern Munich. Between the games, Matthias took care of our breakfast. Unfortunately, both SC and VfB lost.

At 10:30 am, it was boarding time for our trip with the ship to Kenai Fjord. We had amazingly beautiful weather. Soon after, Orcas were swimming around our ship. We have never seen them so close before. A goosebumps moment for us.

The next one came when we approached the glacier, through ice floes. I don't know how many times Mats said 'amazing', we were so overwhelmed.

On the way back, we saw seals, a small vacation island in the middle of nowhere, and much more. An excursion that was more than worth it.

As a conclusion, we had Chinese food today, extra spicy for me, and a walk along the beach. At the beach, we could observe numerous fishermen. Tomorrow we will go on the MS Noordam and our cruise to Vancouver will begin. We won't have internet on the ship. That's why you won't hear from us for the next few days.
