29 to Kongsvinger

প্ৰকাশিত: 12.05.2023

Tour data: 113.19 km, average speed: 21.6 km/h, travel time: 5:14 hours, total distance on the odometer: 4,805.2 / odometer at the start: 2,620.7 / so far, 2,185.5 km driven on the tour. Exactly 4 weeks ago today, the tour started.

Weather: After many days, I saw clouds again during the tour today. There was a 17% chance of rain, but it remained dry. Temperature up to 20°.

Last night I had an entire house to myself. The host left me a well-stocked fridge, it was almost like a paradise. Despite the physical activity, I don't have much appetite. My appetite is always greatest when I do nothing. I felt very comfortable and enjoyed the circumstances. The trust of the host also touched me. Today, I am experiencing the exact opposite: there is no one in this hotel, no restaurant, and no breakfast. But the room is ok and I found a place for my eBike alone. For the first time, I packed it with the cover I brought. So it is camouflaged and does not attract attention. I will add one more photo to the pictures. (done)

If, like me, you refuse to travel on the main roads, you have to be prepared for great variety. So today I had some gravel roads, drove through narrow forest lanes, crossed a golf course, and ultimately had to drive a short distance on the main road. However, I only started when there was no traffic around. If I saw cars coming in the rearview mirror, I would move aside in time and never got into an uncomfortable situation. The timing was certainly ideal, there was little traffic and not a single truck.

The highlight of today for me was definitely crossing the national border to Norway and encountering a moose for the first time. Please see the photos.

Especially for this trip, I refreshed my Swedish knowledge a bit, but I must admit that practice is much more difficult than theory. Swedish is actually an easy language, especially if you know German and English. Many words are derived from them and there is no conjugation. So reading is actually easy, but when people speak, it becomes much more difficult to understand. I simply lack practice and exercise. I find it interesting how gender is handled here. Han means he and hon means she. If you want to say something gender-neutral, you simply use hen.
