last stop in Bali: Kuta

প্ৰকাশিত: 29.07.2018

The next day, a minivan was supposed to pick me up around 11:00 am and take me to Kuta in about 2 1/2 hours. Unfortunately, I had to wait for a whole hour, but in the end, everything worked out.

We were dropped off in the center of Kuta and I shared a Grab with 2 other girls who were also heading in my direction. When we arrived at the hotel, I met Xenia who had already checked in. We were so happy to see each other again and spend the last two days together.

The first evening was relatively relaxed and we explored the city and the mall a bit before having dinner.

The next and last day was anything but relaxed and once again, we were both totally unorganized.

Early in the morning, we dropped off Xenia's laundry as she wanted to wash her clothes again before leaving for Australia. We were supposed to pick up the laundry by 8:00 pm.

After that, we went to post some mail, went for a little stroll, and then headed to the beach around noon. 🏖️ After sunbathing for a while, we spontaneously booked 2 surf lessons because the waves were perfect. Everything went well, except for a huge wave that took me down and washed over me. I had to take a break because I also had a lot of ear pain. But after 10 minutes, I got back on the board and managed to stand up on almost every attempt, and I even learned to steer a little bit :)

After our short surf session, we went to the nearby mall to get our feet done. However, it took so long that we didn't finish until around 7:30 pm. We called a taxi, but we didn't expect the streets to be so crowded at that time... After 15 minutes in traffic, we were already desperate because Xenia needed her laundry, and the laundry service closed at 8:00 pm, and our flight was at 1:15 am... So, we got out of the taxi and called a motorbike taxi since they are everywhere. The motorbike driver didn't hesitate and took both of us on his back seat. He skillfully navigated through the congested traffic. For a moment, I thought it could be my last hour 😃

Relieved that we were still alive, we arrived at the laundry, but it was already closed. However, we managed to contact the woman through a phone number, and she came back just for us... So, everything turned out fine, and Xenia got her laundry back, but we were exhausted 😄

We didn't have much time left, so we packed our things, quickly had something to eat, and then headed to the airport. Interestingly, our flights were almost at the same time, Xenia's at 1:15 am to Cairns and mine at 1:35 am to Bangkok. Our planes were even parked next to each other during boarding :)

After one month in Bali, I had to say goodbye to the beautiful island. But I was so excited to see Bangkok and Robin again.
