Contrary to what the cover image suggests, today we were on a motorcycle tour. Our first stop was the highest mountain here in the Da Lat area, the Lang Bian Mountain. Contrary to the information in the guidebook, it was no longer allowed to ride up the mountain on a motorcycle. So we had to rent a jeep and driver to take us all the way up and down. Of course, we could have also hiked up, but we didn't have the time as we had a few more stops planned for today. The view from the mountain was really beautiful. Unfortunately, everything was very touristy. A special highlight were the animals, which were a mix of zebra and horse.
After we were driven back down, we continued to a coffee plantation after a short refreshment break in a cafe. Markus and I drank a civet coffee there. If you want to know what makes this coffee so special, just Google it!
From there, we continued to the Elephant Walter Falls. We had a short lunch break at a roadside stand and ate the typical Vietnamese sandwiches. These consist of a baguette filled with various different types of sausage and cucumbers.
When we reached the waterfall, we could already hear the rushing of the water from a distance. The path along the waterfall started at the top and went all the way down. There were different paths right next to or right below the waterfall. Okay, the path below the waterfall was not exactly official, but it was a lot of fun.
Afterwards, we made our way to the next waterfall, which was a bit further. Here, too, everything was very touristy, just like on the mountain. There was even a cable car that you could take past the waterfall. Luckily, the entrance fees here were not expensive. Next to the waterfall, there was a small (very kitschy) park with many different figures.
After we had seen everything here, we went back to Da Lat. Our tour around Da Lat was over 100km long. Today, we also participated in the very sociable family dinner.
Tomorrow, we will continue if hopefully my lens is repaired...
