Day 5: Bangkok

প্ৰকাশিত: 15.04.2018

Today we visited the temple that you absolutely must see in Bangkok: the Wat Phra Kaeo.

The temple was completely crowded with tourists. It could have been such a spiritually beautiful place, instead we were pushed through a river of people. It's a shame, but it was still very beautiful to see. Here, everything that glitters truly is gold. Right next to the temple, we also saw the Royal Palace, which stood out with its very European style.

Afterwards, we strolled through the city, through Chinatown, until we reached the train station. Just exploring the city...

To end the day, we wanted to relax at the rooftop bar on the 62nd floor of a hotel. Since we suspected there would be a dress code, we had already put on long pants. So we nervously approached the hotel entrance, acted a bit silly, and got in. We were so excited... But when we reached the top, we saw the disappointing prices on the menu of the overcrowded bar. So, instead of going broke, all we could do was take some nice photos and finally go back to the hostel. There, we had a rum and coke for only €2.50 on the ground floor, instead of €15 on the 62nd floor.
