Last day in Bangkok

প্ৰকাশিত: 03.01.2018

Our last day in Bangkok started early. Apparently, my internal clock has already adjusted to the time change and reliably wakes me up at 6:30 AM here as well. Well, we jumped right into the breakfast hustle and bustle and were at the pool early. That's something, too.

In the afternoon, we wanted to treat ourselves to a highlight and go to one of the trendy rooftop bars in the city. Tripadvisor recommended the bar "Above Eleven," which is 5.9km away from the hotel...also accessible with children, so off we went! The bar was absolutely fantastic! Great view over the skyline. But even in our best attire, we felt a little underdressed between high heels and mini dresses. Moreover, we had told the children that we would eat something there. Well, you can imagine Nora's disappointment when we didn't get a table at the bar...because it was fully booked!!

However, the highlight wasn't the skyline, but the journey there. And not in a positive sense! Unfortunately, the man didn't know the way at all and drove us around for a good 50 minutes...at an average speed of 80, that was definitely more than the stated 6km! Just for comparison, the way back was done in fifteen minutes. But we also learned something: we now negotiate the price with the taxi drivers! Now we belong to the club :-)))

Tomorrow morning, we will continue to Koh Chang. Off to the island.
