Jojo and I then drove ahead to the Great Ocean Road and visited a lighthouse, a 'staircase waterfall', and enjoyed the view from Teddy's Lookout, where we stumbled upon a wild koala during an unplanned hike through a national park~ the highlight of our day! đ¨đŋIn the evening, we met Tim and Ann-Estelle at a campground in the national park and celebrated the upcoming time together....which got a bit out of hand :) đĨâ¨In the morning, we were visited by cockatoos and parrots, whom we shared our cat breakfast with.đĻđ Back in the coastal town of Lore, we had a short sale shopping action with some bargains :) On the way, we stopped at 'Koala Street' and marveled at another one of Australia's countless waterfalls. Since the sun sent us beach weather, we stopped at our next vacation destination and went swimming in the Pacific Ocean for the first time. đđ Our campground for the night was once again a national park on the riverbank, where we stayed overnight with kangaroos and (baby) koalas. đĻđ¨
Next, we visited the highest sea cliffs in Australia and the fishing village of Port Campbell, where we had a huge portion of fish & chips :)đ We also visited the landmark of the Great Ocean Road ~ the Twelve Apostles ~ which represent 12 outstanding rock blocks in front of the Australian cliffs. Since the sun was at its best, we continued up the turquoise-blue coast and visited more sights, such as 'the London Bridge' (a kind of limestone bridge), 'Loch Ard Gorge' (a beautiful beach with a huge limestone cave), 'the Grotto' (a higher plateau above the sea with a view of a huge limestone bridge), and 'Broken Head' (a cave formed by waves in the sea). đđ
In the afternoon, we made our way to the next campground at a waterfall, which we also visited with a long hike. đŖđ´
Over the next 2 days, we drove along the coast back to Melbourne and made stops at some beaches for ice cream and swimming (with a water temperature of 17°C âī¸). We spent the night at the most beautiful campground of our Bobby trip by far! A lookout over the Australian landscape during sunset with a delicious BBQ. đđĨđ Our last evening with Bobby was then celebrated at a small campground with noodles, tomato sauce, and wine.
The next morning, Bobby was brought back to Travellers Autobarn in pristine condition ~ bye bye Bobby âŖī¸
With Tim and Ann-Estelle, we spent our last day in Melbourne.
In the evening, Jojo and I had a farewell dinner at the Old School Pizzeria. đ
