18.01.2017: Australia Zoo

প্ৰকাশিত: 19.01.2017

In mid-January, there was a small break from learning to visit the famous Australia 'Steve Irwin' Zoo. We took the train and bus early in the morning to the zoo, which was 80 km away near the Glasshouse Mountains.

The zoo was huge, and at 35 degrees Celsius in the shade (which sometimes there was more or less of), the expanse of the zoo was sometimes more of a curse than a blessing. But the views were definitely worth it. The cute otters, the Comodo dragon, the birds of prey, the koalas (which we were even allowed to pet), and the red panda were all impressive. The highlight was, of course, the bird of prey and crocodile show. It used to be personally led by Steve Irwin himself. I’d rather not encounter a four to five-meter long saltwater crocodile in the wild. The Andean condor was also very impressive.

After the zoo visit, we also stopped by the adjacent animal hospital, where we could watch live operations on koalas, kangaroos, and other animals.
