Rheinsteig Stage 1

The weather is so nice, let's start walking spontaneously. We start our first Rheinsteig tour in Schierstein, because we already started from Bibrich some time ago, but then stayed directly on the Rhine.

From Wiesbaden-Schierstein to Schlangenbad didn't sound very exciting to us, but we were surprised by the variety and diversity on the 1st stage. First uphill through the vineyards, the wide view into the Rhine plain again and again - what is what in Mainz, Rheinhessen,... -

Downhill, uphill, into the next valley, a beautiful brook, the bright spring green of the trees... In the end, a path along several mills.

Finally, we arrive in Schlangenbad, which turns out to be a somewhat outdated spa town, with beautiful half-timbered houses - the Hessian Landgrave used to come here for spa treatments - and concrete buildings that were apparently very proud of in the 70s.

Here you can also take a bus back to Wiesbaden, which we board tired after the walk.
