England also has its own "Highlands" - we have been traveling across the country for almost three days on old railway lines... similar to Scotland, many cities were connected by a dense railway network. Today, it is a popular option for tourists and cyclists to cover long distances without much traffic. We had fun and met many hobby cyclists who spontaneously started a conversation with us.
Today, we cycled through a national park... the landscape changes quickly, and agriculture here is limited to pastureland. We are back in the highlands, although not comparable to Scotland, but we have to work pretty hard to conquer the mountains.
Tomorrow, we will return to the North Sea, but only for a day, and then we will head inland again.
The weather is great, plenty of sun, and just enough wind to cool us down while cycling.
