On 28.03. is the beginning of the Hindu New Year. Nyepi is the Day of Silence, fasting, and meditation. It is the most important Hindu holiday. The day before, there was a big celebration with a parade, where various evil gods are portrayed. With music, they are carried to a place and then burned. From 0:00 o'clock, everyone goes home and does not leave for 24 hours. Time is spent with family and relaxing at home.

So we stocked up on snacks and drinks to enjoy the holiday. We also went to the market and bought bracelets and rings.

In the evening, there was a big celebration. Very impressive ceremony. Unfortunately, most tourists could not watch from the roadside and were walking among the performers, which bothered us a bit. Unfortunately, the figures were not burned because the ceremony lasted until shortly before midnight and ended at 0:00 o'clock. The problem was simply that there was no structure and no schedule 😉. At the end, we took some photos and relaxed while watching the starry sky.

Today, we relax in the room, on the terrace, and in the pool. Tomorrow morning we will continue to Gili Air (finally swimming in the sea). đŸĸ🏝
