5:20 a.m. - your eyes suddenly open. We set our alarm clock extra early and prepared everything the evening before. An unusual role reversal this morning, because Natascha is wide awake and Günni is still hanging on the ropes for a while. But nothing that can't be fixed with a coffee 😊
We arrived at the parking lot at 6:40 a.m. and started walking. Preikestolen here we come!
And there were already some people out and about. In hindsight we think we could have started a little earlier. But be that as it may, it was also wonderful. Exhausting: definitely! We could both start as butt models now, we've trained these muscles so well along the way 😆
If you like hiking, nature really has something to offer here. In the meantime, Natasha was firmly convinced that she could see Frodo and his companions between the trees. It was just the other crazy people who were also out and about this early in the morning. By the way, we were met by a few people who were already on their way back.
And every now and then you catch a glimpse of the fjord along the way and look forward to your destination up there even more. When you finally arrive it is simply breathtaking. The grins on our faces seemed to be stuck in place. How can it be so beautiful? The sky was a bit cloudy, but the sun kept shining through. And the fog was just such that it only added to this mystique and didn't obscure our view. So first we put down our backpacks and had breakfast. On Preikestolen with this view. This will be a memory that is firmly anchored. How grateful we both are to be able to experience something like this cannot be expressed in words.
At some point it has to go down again. And we're on our way back just in time, because the buses and therefore the masses of people are slowly arriving. Don't get me wrong, everyone should of course vacation in their own way, however they like it. However, we were both happy that we had the path and the view in many places all to ourselves and in peace.
Back at the campsite, it was Günni's turn to cook. Very typical local cuisine: Labskaus. From the can 😅
We were both far too exhausted for anything decent. And on that day everything would probably have tasted like a star menu. It was quite simply an all-round successful day
