Sechste Etappe

...from Ronney/ Barby to Hohenwarthe on the Elbe-Havel Canal on Saturday, April 20, 2019

After a peaceful night with a frog concert to fall asleep and a lovingly prepared breakfast, we set off again towards Hamburg.

Today we wanted to cover a few more kilometers after spending the last two days exploring.

The first 40km to Magdeburg went very smoothly and we arrived there by 12pm. On the way, we wanted to recharge our batteries, but received a refusal for the first time.

But that was no problem, so we continued to Magdeburg and at the restaurant "lass Froc" we were kindly granted permission to recharge our batteries. There we also enjoyed our first Radler beer and a delicious Flammkuchen with goat cheese, pears, and walnuts.

Well fortified, we wanted to make it to Rogätz, but unfortunately my battery died after only 20km. So we made another pit stop and enjoyed a delicious ice cream and this time a coffee. Now Hohenwarthe was our destination for the day.

During the last break, Mathias had organized an overnight stay, so we set off for the last kilometers. The Hotel Waldschänke awaited us with a very nice room and a fantastic terrace with a great view of the Elbe and the Elbe-Havel Canal.

After 71km in wonderful sunshine and a delicious dinner, we took a short walk to the Elbe-Havel Canal.
