its a bloody long way
We were there, only 190 km separated us from Alice Springs, the city where it rains only about 2 weeks a year (according to the residents). On the way there, it started to rain heavily and it cooled down to 15 degrees throughout the day, which is unbelievable, we finally made it here and it's just mega cold... in summer it gets up to 50 degrees here!
We hope that when we see Uluru and Kings Canyon, at least on those days it will be nice. How would it look if we stood in front of Uluru in a winter jacket in the Outback, we hope not.
Here in Alice Springs we wanted to visit two friends we met near Darwin last year (Benny and Franzi). Since the two are still working at the moment, we went to see Simpsons Gap, which is 23 km away, during the day and went hiking a bit. In the evening, we sat together nicely with Franzi and Benny, there was a lot to talk about. Then we slept in our car in their garden. Just so cool that we met the two again here in Australia. We will stay in Alice Springs until Friday and then the journey continues.
