Pat Martin opened his first restaurant in 2006. By now, there are a total of 4 in the Nashville area. Alongside Jacks, Martin's is supposed to be one of the best in the business here.
When we arrived, there was already a long line that extended outside of the restaurant. The servers were zooming around, calling out order numbers to serve them accordingly. There was no option for refills here.
Overall, Martin's had a more laid-back vibe compared to Jacks.
Steffi ordered a Hippie Salad with Smoked Turkey Breast, nuts, cranberries, and more. I chose a combo of Ribs and Brisket with Coleslaw and Mac and Cheese. We paid and got our order number. A few minutes later, we received our food. Steffi was very satisfied with her salad. I had no complaints about the food either. The dry ribs tasted great to me with the homemade BBQ sauces. I could easily pull the bones out of the plentiful meat without any resistance. Perfect! The brisket was also smoked perfectly and very juicy. Like at Jacks, they used hickory wood here as well. The price-performance ratio was really good too. If you visit Nashville, you can confidently visit Martin's as well.
What has been interesting for me so far is the realization that they don't smoke with the stronger hickory in Chicago. I'm already looking forward to Memphis and especially to Charlie Vergo Rendezvous!
