The first day

Setting the alarm on vacation, where is that possible? For us Bolis, it was like that because we had a lot planned for today. Transfer the contents of the home refrigerator to the motorhome, don't forget the last little things like charging cables and bedding. At 8 o'clock sharp, we started our journey as planned.

Herbert took us 648 km on today's tour to Aachen. Honestly, the pitch was my goal for today without a real plan B. The research of the past few days made us quite anxious because this place is often full upon arrival, but another one nearby could not be found. There were a lot of construction sites along the way, but luckily no traffic jam. And no trucks on Sunday, that makes a difference.

At around 4 p.m., after almost 8 hours of driving, we reached the pitch, which is operated by an allotment association. And we were lucky, thanks for keeping your fingers crossed for us! There was plenty of free choice of pitches upon arrival, electricity and drinking water directly on the pitch, a sanitary container - because a new sanitary building is currently being built - and a funny groundsman who collected the money in the evening and gave restaurant tips to the guests. All in all, a very good place to stay for one or more nights if you want to explore Aachen and its surroundings. When paying, we received a whole package of brochures. However, this does not apply to us. We want to arrive in France tomorrow.

So we took a little walk around the allotment garden, past a tiny stream and lots of nature, and then enjoyed our well-deserved dinner. We'll grill later because rain is expected.

Now we're sitting here playing cards, protected from the rain under the awning, and we certainly won't grow old today. Tomorrow morning the bakery wagon will come for breakfast and then hopefully Herbert will safely take us to the second leg.
