Feeling a bit under the weather and had a bad night's sleep. Experiencing the overflow of impressions that so many have described. First stop is the gas station, fill up the tank and add a liter of oil. From Balclutha, I drive into Dunedin, a bigger city in the southeast. You could think you're in Ireland. The houses, the people, and even the dialect are different.

I go to my two favorite stores, Pak'n'save and the Warehouse. In the warehouse, they have the cheapest sampler CDs again. I buy another chill CD, the first one was really good, I need new music. I've played 6 CDs over and over for over 4000 km, just like in the old days when there was no mp3. But as it should be on a real road trip, music plays a big role. The VW bus has a great sound system, even speakers in the back of the living room 😀.

I spend the afternoon in a suburb of Dunedin at the beach (Brighton) and arrive early at a free campsite for campers. I get the second-to-last spot at 4 o'clock. The last spot is taken by the other acquaintances I've already met multiple times. But more and more campers are arriving, there are more campers than allowed. The night is very calm and there's a relaxed atmosphere. Free camping is over at 8:30 in the morning. And everyone leaves the spot on time and without any rush.
