Today we started early at 7 o'clock in the morning. Luckily, the kids were still easily lured out of bed on the second day with Pa Thon Go for breakfast. There were ten of us in two private cars heading to Maeklong Railway Market. Right at the beginning, we were slowed down by rush hour traffic in Bangkok, but the drive went by quickly.
A market has settled right next to the railroad tracks at the Railway Market, and from time to time a train passes through. The market mainly offers meat and fish, as well as a lot of fruits and vegetables.
After the Railway Market, we continued towards River Kwai and the Death Railway. For the first time on this vacation, we ventured out of Bangkok and into more rural areas. The roads were lined with coconut palms and banana plants, with many small shops in between and even a few monkeys in the trees.
A quick lunch break turned out to be convenient - 700 Baht for 10 people.
Finally, our train ride started in Kanchanaburi and ended at the famous Bridge on the River Kwai.
