Brisbane - West End and Brisbane River

In the morning, we went for a walk again. It was already very hot. As soon as the sun is out, it has immense power.

Later, we went on another trip to Brisbane: this time to West End, in search of a specific store that carries very special shoes that we are supposed to bring to Germany, 'Blundstones', actually a company that produces work and safety shoes.

And we did find what we were looking for. On the way there, we discovered a small shopping center around Milton Station, with many smaller shops, restaurants, cafes, and quite multicultural. And we walked many kilometers through industrial or mixed-use areas to get to that store. And even further, because Hannes wanted to find the house where Helen lived over thirty years ago and he once tried his hand at climbing facades. But that's another story.

On the way back, we took a short ride on the Brisbane River ferry - actually a very convenient means of transportation in the city, but unfortunately, some jetties were closed. So, lots of 'legwork' again.

And everywhere on the streets, many blooming jacaranda trees. 🌸😀
