04.12.2019 Isabela

Today we are going to the island of Isabela. We leave Santa Cruz by ferry at half past seven in the morning. The crossing takes two hours and is not quite as pleasant due to the waves. Once we arrive, we check into the hostel and then rent a bike for the day. With this bike, we ride along a 5-kilometer long path to the Wall of Tears, a wall made of volcanic stones from a past penal colony. Along the way, there are various spots to explore, including a viewpoint. After passing the wall, we hike up a mountain from where we get a good view of the island. The return trip is relatively fast on the bike as we ride downhill.
