Tsitsikamma Nature Park

On Wednesday morning we made our way to Tsitsikamma Nature Park. Tsitsikamma National Park is one of the most popular nature reserves along the Garden Route. The park is very popular for hikers as there are many hiking trails. We chose the Mouth Trail to the Suspension Bridges including the Lockout Trail. The Mouth Trail itself leads over a wooden walkway to the famous Suspension Bridges. After that, we took the Lookout Trail, which connects directly to the Mouth Trail and leads up behind the big Suspension Bridge. The way up was tough with stones and steep steps, especially in the heat. Once we reached the top, we had a great viewpoint looking down. We enjoyed a snack up there and then hiked back down.

After the Tsitsikamma Park, we made a stop at the famous Over 200 Meter Bridge (Bloukrans Bridge) nearby. There is an opportunity for the adventurous to do a bungee jumping jump. We made a stop at this point on the way back home and watched the jump from the safe side.

We spent the afternoon relaxing on the beach.

On Thursday morning, we will head back towards Cape Town or Hermanus, where we will make a stopover.
