This morning I slept in and didn't leave my hammock until late morning. Together with my companion, I went back to the city where we said our goodbyes. I strolled through the city for a bit and sat down at a picnic table for breakfast. I chatted with a group of Spanish divers who were in Oslo for a competition and were also wild camping like me. I stayed in the park for a while and read a book.
Around noon, I rented a bike and rode up to the University of Oslo. The university buildings were built in the Bauhaus style, with a combination of brick. I strolled around the campus for a bit and rode back to the city.
In the afternoon, I had plans to go swimming in the fjord with another couchsurfer. We met right at the swimming pool, which was a converted jetty that extended into the Oslo Fjord. I changed into my swimwear and enthusiastically dove into the refreshing water. It was significantly warmer than on the Fjordruta, and I couldn't help but notice how salty it was. It's an unusual feeling to swim in saltwater without feeling the waves. I jumped off the jetty, which was about a meter high, a few more times, swam a few laps, and then joined the young man who kept me company after a thorough shower. He was born in Vietnam, grew up in Finland, and studied in Switzerland. He told me about life in Finland and the beautiful landscapes of Switzerland. Together, we rode our bikes back to the city and said our goodbyes.
I decided to start my journey to Stockholm on the same evening and boarded the first train. I arrived in the small town of Kongsvinger at dusk and wandered a bit into the wilderness. There, I found a fabulous shelter where I made myself comfortable and had a chat with friends before closing my eyes.
