The roof terrace with pool really invites you to relax. After we were able to find another portion of rice yesterday, we decided to end the first day on the roof. We tried to think about where to go next - somewhere in the south. We haven't booked anything yet.
12 hours of sleep later, we started the day sluggishly with cappuccino and Vietnamese spring rolls… at 1:30 p.m., pleasant. It was unpleasant that Ronja ate unprofessionally with the chopsticks that were handed to us. Good thing we decided to go back to the hotel to give our sunscreen a wet handshake! The spot on my back that I (Nina) didn't reach is a little red this evening. Oops.
We got a lot of impressions in our first temple (Wat Arun), which we were only allowed to visit with appropriate clothing (arms and legs covered). Of course, I (Ronja) had to buy new pants beforehand, which I immediately fell in love with - yes mom, I bought something new! Afterwards we just drifted, first by boat across the Riva Arun for 5 baht/person, then through the streets of Bangkok, which after a large offer of food offered us a gigantic offer of flowers.
Our hunger took us to a tiny restaurant where we ordered green curry and Pad Thai. The curry was spicier than we combined. My body reacted immediately and I sweat even more than I already did at 35 degrees. After Nina laughed at me for a long time, she gave me her leftover food - hmm delicious (it really was).
For dessert there was a delicious piece of American cheesecake to deal with the little culture shock of the curry.
The next culture shock awaited us during our visit to China Town. Between cockroaches, garbage and dirt, disgusting smells, fried insects, lots of people and mating cats, we felt completely out of place. So our detour was over after 30 minutes and we decided to go back to the hotel.
“They’re doing Seeex!”
Overall, the day was very successful, despite the fact that neither of us are “city people”. We first have to process the many impressions. Right now we're going to sleep happy and content and looking forward to tomorrow!
