Tag 2 - New York - Hop on hop off - 9/11 - Empire State Building

We have a lot planned for today. In this respect, a good breakfast is very important. My biggest worry about the trip is that the food doesn't taste good or I don't like it... but everything was great - very British and hearty! 😀👍🏻

To get an overview of the city, we took a hop on hop off tour.

By the way, navigating within the city runs quite smoothly and is relatively easy due to the largely square street layout. I don't want to advertise. With “Maps.Me”, orientation offline also works very well 😁. But the traffic in New York is an absolute disaster. Anyone who thinks Italy is bad should come here. Traffic light signals act more as guidelines 😅🙈

During the bus ride we visited the 9/11 memorials (Ground Zero and a museum with remains of the buildings). I think it's very important that you "take part" and pause sometimes. The images immediately come to mind when horrible things happened right there 22 years ago.

Then I'll try a transition now😅... Since we can look directly at the Empire State Building from the window of our hotel, it was immediately clear to us: We have to go up there! It was just indescribably great, a real eye opener. From the 86th floor of the building you have a sensational view over Manhattan. This is something very special and you definitely have to see it with your own eyes when you are in New York.

We also ate our first US burger today - it was great 👍🏻
