We are looking around in Tuscany and Liguria for somewhere we could travel to, because the bad weather is relatively close to us.
Today we are on our way to Lucca. We tried to get there last year but a road was closed. This year it's the same story. This road is closed again but this time we managed to get to the parking spot after a few strange, very small and narrow streets. Thanks to Google we found out what's going on in Lucca. There's always a Lucca Summer Festival at the weekend and this weekend Ed Sherran is there. So we're staying and trying to catch some sounds from outside. The parking lot is fine for us and so we're sleeping in Lucca tonight.
The city is wonderful, small alleyways and old buildings. You can really fall in love with it. Just like we've been told or heard over the last few days. There was also delicious ice cream and then a mega slice of pizza at a small, quaint Italian restaurant - you have to go there when you're in Lucca. Our parking space is just a stone's throw from the center and we went there again in the evening. Everything is extremely full and the festival visitors are already in the area. Looking for focaccia (which we didn't end up getting), we ended up in a pizzeria and sat comfortably on the market square. We waited an unusually long time for our food, but the pizza was amazing. But what's the weather like? It's pretty overcast and the weather forecast doesn't bode well. Rain would be great, because Bobby already has a great patina of dust on it.
The night will certainly be very warm, it is still a good 25 degrees outside.
