Onewhero Campsite in Onewhero

Although the night in the rooftop tent was very unpleasant due to the cold, the morning looks completely different. We decide to go to the beach - Sunset Beach, Port Waikato. When we arrive, the first thing we notice is the black sand, which is not uncommon on New Zealand beaches. Next, we notice the extremely high and strong waves crashing against the huge rocks in the water. Therefore, swimming initially seems a bit dangerous to us. However, after several locals jump into the water, we also decide to go for a swim. Nicola and Eileen relax on the beach, with music in their ears and sun on their skin, until suddenly a wave takes over the beach, causing them to be completely in the water - including their phones. After everything is back in order, we can have a good laugh about it. 😂 On our way back, we buy a 2L tub of ice cream from a small store and quickly devour it at the campsite.

Jetzt verstehe ich auch, warum Eileens Handy eine kleine Wartung brauchte :-)
