Bavella Massif and Piscia di Gallo

Supplement to yesterday evening:

The evening at Palombaggia Beach was nice and it was certainly the right decision to protect Captain from the ravenous mosquitoes and to seal off Massimo Duci hermetically after dusk. This decision was not unanimous, but since the Admiral has double voting power and I have no voting rights, it was decided and implemented this way. And what can I say; I have rarely been so glad to be outvoted. The Admiral and I were still sitting in front of Duci, we were full and satisfied and only a few words about the plans for the next days were being exchanged. Finally, the Admiral insisted and drew my attention to a little nut lying on the ground in our circle. Nut?! Upon closer inspection, the nut had eight legs and sparkling eyes! That's right! A nut with eyes, we thought, and eight legs! Yeah, right! After closer examination and illuminating it with our brain lamps, we confirmed the existence of the largest spider I have ever seen in my life in the wild. That wouldn't have been a problem if we had been in the zoo and if it had been clarified from the beginning who is a visitor and who is a resident of the zoo. But here the cards were reshuffled and the creature had its damn habitat here, without a glass pane, without a fence, and we were right in the middle! The evening was ruined! Brushing our teeth - going to sleep. And the giant creature was not out of our sight for a single second. And we sealed off Massimo hermetically... that's how it went! The next morning, everything was meticulously inspected before it went into the Duci... After a short internet research, the candidate was also identified... we hope to never encounter it again!

This morning we started early, for our standards. The Captain blew the march. 'To Cascade de Piscia di Gallo, helmsman,' echoed through all the decks. I went to the helm and after catching a few baguettes for breakfast, we headed to the mountains. Piscia di Gallo is a waterfall that the Captain insisted on showing us. On land, he moved gallantly between my wet bosom in the Bondolino. Before that, we filled our canteens at a fountain in the mountains, then we went to the Cascade...

Afterwards, we leisurely sailed down the Solenzara River to the mouth, admired the Bavella Massif and a few holm oaks by the wayside, before finding our anchorage. Now we are on the starboard side of the beach, looking forward to a sunrise directly over the sea...
