Last night we were at the Broadway musical Book of Mormon. It was excellent. However, it was still cold and raining constantly.
Today we woke up to beautiful weather, which makes the world much friendlier. First, we explored the High Line. It is a former railway network that served the harbor docks. This means that the tracks went away from the Hudson River at about the 2nd floor level, from the south to the north of Manhattan. Part of these tracks have been converted into a green space, with benches, loungers, and artworks. It's fantastic. You can also get very close to various buildings, sometimes skyscrapers, sometimes three-story buildings.
After our experiences, we noticed that New York not only has more skyscrapers, but they are even demolishing older skyscrapers and replacing them with larger ones. Small grocery stores and specialty shops are now even further outside the center. Additionally, a good portion of New Yorkers seems to enjoy driving huge cars. Almost every other car is a giant car, and there are few Teslas & Co unlike in California.
We were supposed to meet Bob, but his train had a technical issue, so the meeting fell through. However, we still went to Macy's and bought a coat. Unfortunately, it still had the anti-theft device on it, and I (Tommy) had to walk the 7km to Macy's and back just before departure.
We will be leaving soon.
