We reached the hostel that we had contacted before and unfortunately we were put off. They currently don't have any work to offer. So we got back in the car and drove into town, where we soon saw a second working hostel. The owner promised to give us addresses of farms where we could find work if we checked in with him for a week. We agreed and checked the addresses, unfortunately in vain. Disappointed, we visited some other farms and were also disappointed there. It wouldn't be the right season yet, we heard over and over again.

To make the best of the situation, we decided to explore the Kerikeri area in the next few days.

The next evening, we took a trip to the hot thermal springs in Waiariki with people from the hostel. They were hot sulfur springs with several pools at different temperatures. They ranged from 36 - 47 °C.

On Sunday, we drove to Puketi Forest and walked the Manginangina Kauri Walk. We had planned the whole afternoon and then realized that the walk only took 15 minutes :D
