Canyons and Colorado River

After drinking wine last night with a couple from New Zealand who are traveling in a camper, there was a storm in the distance.

Now we are invited to go to New Zealand and stay on an avocado farm in Tauranga.🥑

Today we explore Canyonlands National Park, so we are already up at 6 o'clock 🏃🏃

Our first stop is at Mesa Arch, which can be reached after a short hike. The view here is fantastic. Just right for our breakfast. It can hardly be topped.

We continue to the Grand View Point.

We have to hike to the viewpoint again.

The rocks here are 700 m high. No safety railing anywhere 🙈

We continue to Upheaval Dome. To see the alleged crater of a meteorite impact 60 million years ago, we have to climb up again.

That's it 😉

We continue to the Green River Overlook.

Actually we wanted to go to the Death Horse Canyon afterwards. But since this is not a national park but a state park, they want another 20 dollars entrance fee. So we decide to go back to the Colorado River for swimming and find a beach just as beautiful as yesterday.

The sand is so hot that it feels like walking on hot coals.

The last day here in Moab has come and tomorrow we will continue to Cortez. Back to civilization. At least there is a Walmart there😀
