Partly cloudy and sunny alternately
After a hearty breakfast, we take a tour, Juha wants to help with his small construction project on his property.
First, we drive past the Heinola church onto a very narrow and very curvy track that leads us through a scenic route between two large lakes.
Here, there is also a long ice age moraine ridge that can be explored with a 2.5-kilometer long path and signposts.
We treat ourselves to this and then continue to the medium-sized city of Lahti.
Here, we park near the Sibelius Hall, directly on a newly designed waterfront where historical excursion ships are moored for the winter. Old wooden houses and factory buildings have been renovated and converted for modern use.
Then we take a stroll in the nearby city center and have lunch.
Back at the summer house, Gondula picks lingonberries, which are abundant on the entire property. Later, she makes jam out of them. Meanwhile, Gerd heats up the sauna once again. We spend the evening with Juha again, eating, drinking wine, and talking for a long time. It is a very pleasant and relaxing stay with him.
