We camped for two nights in the southernmost caravan park, pub, general store, and fuel station. Full of enthusiasm, we tried our luck fishing on the southernmost jetty. A family of four was also on the jetty, and the children, with fishing genes in their blood, helped us novices. They caught a shark, which managed to free itself, and a squid.
It was thrilling to see the squid defending itself against the fishing line, both in the water and on land, by squirting ink. On the second evening, we remained fishless and had to satisfy our hunger after a 5-hour hike with fish and chips at the pub. But the memories of the beautiful sunset, accompanied by a 2m stingray diving under the jetty, will remain unforgettable.
