92. Bavaro, Punta Cana (Dominican Republic)

Basically, we had the idea of spending the last weeks of the trip in Jamaica - but since there are still too many restrictions due to Corona (for example, you can only stay in certain hotels) and we still wanted to stay in the Caribbean, it's now time to say: Buenos dias Dominican Republic!

We start in Bavaro, a small suburb of Punta Cana, and stay here (as everywhere soon) for a whole week.

On the one hand, you often get a weekly discount on Airbnb if you stay for 7 nights, and on the other hand, we don't want to move every 4 nights anymore and drive around the whole country, but relax a lot and simply enjoy the sun!

In the beginning, the bad weather still follows us and it rains on the first two days...

But then it gets better, the rain stops, the sun is shining brightly, and we enjoy the beach,

our great apartment

and the pool.

Finally, 3 quick questions for Katha:

1. What will you miss after the trip? - 'Knowing that you never need long clothes and sturdy shoes (even in the rain). Skirt, top, flip-flops, and off you go!'

2. What won't you miss? - 'Mosquitoes. Spraying yourself with mosquito spray. Buying expensive mosquito sprays. Still getting many bites despite spraying. Hiding from mosquitoes. Chasing mosquitoes in the room. I hate mosquitoes!'

3. What are you looking forward to the most? - 'To our friends and spending a hopefully relaxed summer in Nuremberg with them - swimming pool, park, beer garden, sun, Aperol Spritz, and terrace. And having proper pub crawls again! And concerts!'
