Hi everyone!
Yesterday we went out again and saw the seals once more. We hoped to see some on land, but unfortunately we had no luck. On our way back, we saw a few rabbits and a toad instead :).
So for all animal lovers, England is really recommended! Scotland will surely be even more extreme in that regard - we're really excited!
This morning, the alarm rang at 8 o'clock and about 10 minutes later, there was a knock on the door: The owner of the parking lot contacted us... We opened the door and at first, he was not happy at all because we had stayed there overnight - even though it was explicitly forbidden. At first, he wanted to fine us (that would have been £100!!), but after repeatedly saying "we're really so sorry! We only wanted to be early enough to see the seals....", he finally gave in. He asked us to put five pounds in the machine and then it would be okay. He even wished us a nice day in the end! Of course, we put the money in and went to see the seals. Again, we walked for about an hour and only saw them in the water. A head here, then there again. But it was cool to observe the animals like that!
Around noon, we returned to the camper and drove a bit further. Not far, just about 4-5 kilometers to a small parking space. Since we had no internet reception, we were more or less on our own :).
We drove through really narrow streets, through a totally lovely village. When we saw the parking space, we initially drove a little further, but since we couldn't find anything better, we turned back. There is a mailbox at the entrance where you put in £10 for the night.
Since we are right on the beach, we went out again to look for the seals. A local person said we were heading in the right direction, but we still had a good 30 minutes walk ahead of us. We walked and walked.... After 5 miles, which is 8 kilometers through the sand, we turned back again. We saw them in the water again. Maybe we'll have better luck another time when the sun shines a bit more.
After a little over three hours of walking, we are now back at the camper.
If we only moved this much all the time... Somehow you always have hope: Maybe around this curve, or behind that one. And when you start to get tired... Then you have to go all the way back... We haven't quite figured out how to calculate the way back :)).
But at the end of the day, we always felt great! Exhausted, but really good!
Of course, later we'll fire up the grill :D.
We have sausages with homemade mashed potatoes.
Otherwise, we're just enjoying the evening ;)
So until tomorrow, if the network cooperates :)
PS: the pictures will come later, unfortunately the reception is still not good enough...
